Hotel

Here are some photos of the hotel & neighborhood we stayed in on our trip to Chicago. We stayed at the Ambassador East Hotel and it was an excellent place to stay. It is within walking distance to downtown & Lake Michigan and in a great neighborhood. It is also close to a subway station, so it made it easy to get around the city.

Here is our hotel - the brown brick building on the left.

The inside of the hotel is quite ornate

We were in a regular king room, but I saw a tip online from someone else that had stayed there to call ahead and ask for a corner room. We got one and it was quite spacious! We had a large walk-in closet too, so it made it easy to move in for 4 nights.

The hotel is in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood - the townhomes there are quite pricey and we saw some large homes down the street (mansion-like). The neighborhood is full of trees and is quiet compared to the downtown atmosphere a few blocks away. Each townhome has manicured gardens in the front, likely kept up by hired gardeners.

We thought the hotel location and safe neighborhood was just terrific and we would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Chicago.

We have many many more photos from our trip - stay tuned!
