Eye Drops

We had a call from CJ's daycare on Thursday afternoon to say he woke up from his nap with very mattery eyes. They weren't sure if it was pink eye or something else, but suggested that we have it checked out.

I took CJ to the clinic and he was such a good boy for the doctor (no crying when they checked his ears, eyes or throat!). In fact he even gave the doctor a smile when she showed him the various equipment she was going to use while we were there.

The good news is CJ doesn't have pink eye. The doctor said that his mattery eyes were due to the cold virus he has (along with the runny nose and cough). She prescribed eye drops anyway to be on the safe side (she said she'd rather use drops than none at all and not risk scratching the cornea).

Anyway, to bring an end to this story - here's the funny part. When we put the drops in CJ's first eye, he smiled and said "more!". We were really surprised by this reaction, as normally he hates this (who wouldn't?) and both Joel & I have to hold him down in order to get the drops in. So then I put the drops in the second eye and CJ again said "more!". We said we were all done, but that he would get more medicine for his eyes in the morning. Once morning came, we were back to the old routine of struggling to put the drops in. Well, it was nice while it lasted! To this day, I hate putting eye drops in my eyes, so I don't blame CJ one bit.

He's already showing signs of getting over his cold, so we're hopeful he'll be back to 100% again soon.
