The calendar says spring, but our weather tells us it is still winter. Last Tuesday we had quite a storm. It started with freezing rain, thunder, and lightning...and then turned into 9 inches of additional snow on the ground. What kind of weather pattern was this? I decided we should do something to take our minds off the weather, so I made a tropical-inspired supper that included pineapple & coconut. I pulled out my Hawaiian leis and turned on the Hawaiian music channel. It was fun!
Prior to the storm, we had experienced some melting - enough so we could start to see grass in some areas.
School was closed in the area on Wednesday, including CJ's daycare / preschool. I stayed at home with him in the morning and we did various activities, including playing cars, painting, flashcards, etc. In the afternoon CJ was home with Joel. After CJ's nap, they played in the backyard for 2 straight hours. Joel started making a snowman, but CJ was more intent on cleaning the snow off / out of his playhouse. The snowman is very tall! Joel also made a snow puppy - isn't it terrific?
Joel got Cassie to lie down next to the snow puppy - I don't think she noticed it too much because she was more intent on getting her treat!
So hopefully the snow will melt soon (and a good pace so the flood isn't horrible). I'm looking forward to seeing green grass, blooming flowers, and to spending more time outside!
