Second Bluebird Harvest

CJ & I went to Bluebird Gardens yesterday for the final fall harvest event! He was an excellent helper and so excited to be at the farm. He loves running up & down the fields to find the best things to pick. What a trooper! First we picked squash, then gourds & pumpkins. It was very muddy walking to the squash field, but what could be more fun than slopping through mud at the farm? Nothing!

Next we picked kale, which is a great leafy green vegetable. CJ was even eating it raw in the field! He wanted a snack while we were picking and asked if he could eat the kale...so I said sure! He thought it was pretty good cold (we usually eat it heated up) because he ate 3 large leaves before we got back to the vehicle. I love that healthy kid. :-)

Snacking on more kale back at the Traverse! After that we picked a few beets and carrots. We didn't have a shovel along for the carrots, so that didn't go as well. But we tried because CJ told me "As I always say, I'm a big fan of carrots!"

  1. You two must have been tired after carting so many good veggies out of the garden! Good for you to make the most of the remaining tickets. Mom B
