Soldier Field

Back to some more Chicago pictures! We took a tour of Soldier Field where the Bears play football. It was such a fun tour - we enjoyed seeing some behind-the-scenes areas, including a walk down near the field, the visitors' locker room, skyline suites, etc.

The field honors soldiers and there are several nice memorial areas around the stadium

We had the opportunity to walk at field level (but not actually on the field). It was quite a neat experience!

We saw the visitors' locker room. Our tour guide said that most players have a clause in their contract that restricts who can enter their home locker room. The tour guide said that the Bears locker room is about five times nicer than the visitors' locker room - and why wouldn't it be? The visitors' locker room has jerseys of great players who have competed at Soldier Field.

Next we went up some elevators and got to see a nice view looking East to Lake Michigan. If you look down to the cement area directly below these windows, you will see the original seats of the stadium.

Later we took this picture - sitting on those cement seats

The last official stop on the tour was the skybox area - what great seats! The tour guide said that each seat is $1200 per game (includes food & beverages). Yes, per game. Unbelievable!

We had a great time seeing Soldier Field up close! Now when we see the Bears play there (on TV) we can just imagine what it would be like to be there at a game.
