Take me out

...to the ball game!

Thursday night we went to a Redhawks game - they are a local minor league team and the games are quite fun, especially since they have entertainment between innings to get the fans involved. The stadium also has a playground area, so it makes it a nice place to bring active kids that aren't ready to sit through an entire game. We got all dressed up in our Tigers gear too.

After work we went to Grandpa & Grammy Bjorge's house for supper and then we went to the game after that. CJ was so excited about the game that he had a hard time concentrating on eating supper!

The evening was very nice and we enjoyed the game. We had great seats too - 5 rows up and just to the right of home plate. There were several home runs during the game, the Redhawks pitcher had a 1-hit game, and our team ended up winning the game, which made it fun for us.

CJ stayed and sat in the seats for quite awhile. He payed more attention to the mascot Hawkeye than the game, but that was fine. When we took CJ to a game last year he was scared of Hawkeye and didn't want anything to do with him. This year he gave Hawkeye hi-five's two separate times and he was always on watch for where Hawkeye was in the stands.

After awhile Joel took CJ to the playground area and then I went to play for awhile too so Joel could go back to the game. CJ & I came back to our seats around the 7th inning stretch (just in time to sing the song Take Me Out to the Ball Game). CJ knows the song this year, so it was cute to see him sing along! We ended up staying for the whole game, which was a surprise. I was going to leave early with CJ, but he did well and sat still for the rest of the game. It ended up being a late night for him, but we figured what is okay once in awhile. We had a great night!
