Millennium Park

More Chicago trip pictures -

After spending the morning at the Shedd Aquarium, we went to Millennium Park and picked up a picnic for two at a nearby cafe. The picnic lunch was terrific - sandwiches, gourmet cheese platter, hummus & pita chips, fruit, veggies & dip, cookies, and water.

We enjoyed the peaceful park setting and had a great view of the skyline and Cloud Gate (better known as The Bean). The Bean is a 110-ton elliptical sculpture, is made of polished stainless steel plates, and 66 feet long and 33 feet high - isn't it cool?

There is a neat, very modern, fountain in Millennium Park. There are two walls that are lit up with different pictures (see faces below). It was a great place for kids (and adults) to cool off on that 90 degree day!
