We had a terrific time carving pumpkins on Saturday. Over the past few weeks we had accumulated 5 pumpkins at our house and Joel thought we should carve all of them. CJ got to pick out two types of pumpkin stencils & he chose Mickey Mouse & a shark.
CJ did a great job pulling out the pumpkin seeds and also separated them from the stringy pumpkin.
We ended up toasting two large pans of pumpkin seeds - they are a delicious treat! CJ loves helping me in the kitchen, so his job was to drizzle the oil on the seeds and then sprinkle with salt.
Joel spent the rest of Saturday evening carving our 5 pumpkins. I think they all look absolutely terrific!

Hi Bjorges,
ReplyDeleteYour pictures warm my heart as I see the three of you doing things together. CJ is both a fortunate kid and a happy kid!
I especially enjoyed the Tigers and shark jack-o-lanterns.

The pumpkin carving is very impressive. The Tigers pumpkin looks the hardest to carve. And you were roasting pumpkin seeds too. Making memories - it's a good thing. (And we won't even attempt to do a jack-o-lantern with Cj next year. He's already way out of our league of triangle shaped eyes and nose and a couple jagged teeth). Really enjoyed the pictures.
