Saturday afternoon Joel & I went to a Tigers/Twins game at the new stadium and CJ stayed with Aunt Allie & Uncle Bruce.
The new stadium is quite the place! The weather forecast for the afternoon though had a chance of rain, so we were wondering what the day would bring. When we arried early for the game, it was hot and sunny. As the game went on, we had some shade, thanks to some clouds coming through. Thankfully there wasn't a drop of rain during the game, so we had the chance to see the whole game.
We arrived early enough to see batting practice
We walked around the whole stadium to check it out!

Our seats were closer to right field, but we found seats in row 15. We really liked sitting so close to the field!

The Tigers & Twins played a 4-game series that weekend and the Tigers won 3 games. Guess which game we saw? The ONE game the Tigs lost. :-( Going into the Saturday game, the Tigers had won the last 11 games against the Twins. Joel said something to the effect of "the Twins were due." Even with a Tigers loss, we felt we (as Tigers fans) could hold our heads high.
Oh well, we have had pretty good luck in the past getting so see the Tigers win. We really enjoyed watching the game and it was a great outing for the two of us!
Allie & Bruce had so many fun activities planned for their afternoon with CJ, it sounds like he had a wonderful time! They swam at the pool, went on a nature walk (saw a frog), watched a movie & ate popcorn, and made peanut butter cookies. Fun times!
When we got back to Bruce & Allie's, we celebrated Allie's birthday and then took them out for an ice cream treat.
We had a great day!
