Salvation Army

Last Wednesday all Fargo BlackRidgeBANK employees rang the bell for the Salvation Army. We each took a 2 1/2 hour shift -- I think it is so great that our employer encourages us to participate in making our community better.

My shift started just after lunch, so I picked up CJ and brought him along to ring the bell. He was there for about an hour before Joel picked him up and he did so well! Beforehand we talked about why we were going to ring the bell.

He was a little charmer while ringing the bell - he said hello to everyone that came through the door at the grocery store and said thank you to everyone that gave money. A high percentage of people donated while CJ was there (the number of donations went down noticeably after he left!).

One grandmotherly lady asked CJ if he knew why he was ringing the bell - he responded so well and said we are raising money for people who don't have enough money to buy food. That was SUCH a proud moment as a parent (yes, sometimes he does listen)! :-)

Ring ring ring!

With my sweet boy! (Yes, I did get new glasses -- it is fun to have a new look.)
