Willis Tower

We went to the Willis Tower (formerly known as the Sears Tower) the evening of our first full day in Chicago. It had been a long day for everyone, but we certainly enjoyed the experience!

A view from the street

Willis Tower is the tallest in the western hemisphere and the 3rd tallest in the world

It wasn't very busy that evening, so we let the boys run a bit

A view of Chicago, 103 stories up!

We also saw a fireworks show!
There are fireworks every Wednesday & Saturday evenings off Navy Pier.

Photos from the Skydeck

You can see from the photos below that there are glass boxes that extend out from the side of the building. It was quite an experience to look straight down and see the street 103 stories below!

CJ thought the Willis Tower was pretty cool! Throughout the trip he would point and say "There's Willis Tower!" and he would be right. We purchased a Lego Willis Tower set for him, so he can remember the experience in that way too.

So that is the end of Day 1 in Chicago. It was certainly a packed day full of fun things!
