Fall Veg Harvest

We had a wonderful day yesterday! We went with Joel's parents to Bluebird Gardens for the fall harvest events. We are all CSA members there and were looking forward to getting our extra fall produce. We picked 8 pumpkins, 12 squash, potatoes, and a few other items (including brussel sprouts). What a day! The van was filled with produce on the way home and it is so fun to have some extra vegetables going into the winter months. The day was quite cool, but that didn't stop people from coming to the farm...it was the busiest we have ever seen the farm!

CJ liked these little pick-a-pie pumpkins

After going to Bluebird Gardens, we drove into Fergus for lunch at Dairyland (yummy burgers & fries). We stopped at my grandparents' house too and had the chance to see my Mom there too. They were so kind to put on coffee, cookies & ice cream -- how could we turn that down?! :-)

After a nice visit there we drove to the lake to put our canoe inside for the winter. The sun was so pretty shining on the lake. We were sad to be closing up the lake place for the winter, but know there are many more fun times to be had there next year!
