The World Series

Joel & I had an awesome time at game 4 of the World Series! It was a terrific experience, even though the Tigers ended up losing to the Giants. It was terrific to see Comerica Park in person, but the best part was being surrounded by thousands of Tigers fans, all cheering for our team. When we have seen Tigers games in the past, it was always at another venue and the Tigs weren't the home team. It was wonderful to be cheering with the majority of the crowd at the World Series.

The crowd was really into the game and we did a lot of cheering and clapping. Our voices were hoarse for a little while the next morning! We cheered for base hits and home runs. We cheered for Tigers pitchers to get individual outs. We started cheers in our section ("Let's go Tigers!") and then people around us chimed in cheering too. It was a stellar atmosphere for Tigers fans! We had a good group of people sitting around us, which made the game enjoyable too.

The game was an evening game and the temps were cool, along with a wind that rivals the wind we experience in Fargo. Mid-way through the game it started raining too, so it was an interesting night to be at an outdoor baseball game! The storm system going through Detroit was associated with hurricane Sandy.

An area for kids inside Comerica Park -

Carousel with all tigers (instead of horses)

Baseball ferris wheel

A view from the upper concourse level above home plate

We wish we knew why there was a CJ flag under the American flag!

A nice sunset

Neat statues above the outfield area

A Verlander billboard outside of the stadium

You can see Ford Field (where the Lions play football) from Comerica Park

We each received a white towel to wave during the game

A great view from our seats!

Our seats were close to the foul ball pole, so it was a good landmark to look for later when we were trying to see if we saw ourselves on TV (we saw Joel on the FOX broadcast later when there was a fly ball).

The FOX broadcast booth

See the figure of the tiger batting on the seat? There were tigers all over the stadium!

We had a terrific time at the World Series and are so happy we had the chance to go!
